For the third consecutive year, the International Journal of Metalcasting has grown in worldwide influence. AFS’ peer-reviewed technical and research journal saw its Impact Factor, a widely used measure of the number of times a journal is cited by researchers, grow 34% from 2019 to 2020, reaching 1.805.
This follows a 33% increase for IJMC from 2018 to 2019 and a 25% jump from 2017 to 2018. Impact Factors are calculated for all academic journals listed in Journal Citation Reports.
“IJMC’s Impact Factor reflects the expertise of its contributors, reviewers, and editorial board,” said Editor-in-Chief Tom Prucha. “Their work, in cooperation with AFS and Springer staff, have made IJMC one of the most influential journals of its kind, and the best global resource for metalcasting technical information.”
Additionally, IJMC’s CiteScore in 2020 increased from 2.1 to 2.6. CiteScores measure similar metrics to Impact Factors.
IJMC is a peer-reviewed quarterly journal that leads the way in the transfer of research and technology for the global metalcasting industry. It is the official research journal of the World Foundry Organization. Now in its 15th year, IJMC is published by AFS in partnership with Springer Nature Publications.
